Matters of the heart

As GRIWA RENT, it is a matter close to our hearts to take responsibility for our community. We are firmly convinced that economic success and social commitment go hand in hand. That is why every year we support various social institutions and non-profit organizations that are dedicated to helping families, children, people with special needs, as well as important counselling and support services.

With our donations, we aim to reach those who work every day to give others hope, security, and support. Our contributions are intended to help provide relief, improve quality of life, and make projects possible that could not be realized without additional financial assistance.

In this way, we as a company make an active contribution to a compassionate, humane, and future-oriented society. We are grateful to be able to support this valuable work and want to show that commitment and solidarity are more than just words to us: they shape our actions.

allaniKinderhospiz

allani Kinderhospiz

allani is the first children’s hospice in Switzerland and offers seriously ill children and their families a place of relief and security. There, the children receive professional care, palliative medical support, and the space to simply be children. Families can use Allani for short-term care, after hospital stays, or during particularly challenging phases.
The hospice provides a warm, family-like environment that enables quality of life and valuable time together. Allani is financed for the most part through donations.

Kinderinsel Bern

stiftung kinderinsel Bern

The KinderInsel Bern Foundation supports the Children’s Hospital at Inselspital with services that are not covered by health insurance or by the canton. Children are not simply small adults: they require more time, more attention, more trained specialists, and age-appropriate infrastructure. When a child is in the hospital, everyday family life is often turned upside down, which is why the foundation also supports parents and siblings during this difficult time. In addition, it promotes research and further education in the field of pediatric medicine, helping to continually improve treatment and care.

The foundation is funded exclusively through donations – every contribution directly helps make a child’s hospital stay as pleasant as possible.

RonaldMcDonald

ronald mcDonald Haus Bern

The Ronald McDonald Houses offer families with seriously ill children a “home away from home” accommodation close to the hospital while their child is receiving treatment. This allows parents and siblings to stay near their child instead of travelling long distances, providing closeness, comfort, and relief during difficult times.

The houses offer rooms, common areas, and often a kitchen, enabling families to take care of themselves while still being together. The Ronald McDonald Children’s Foundation finances these family houses exclusively through donations and volunteer engagement. Thanks to fundraising efforts and broad support, thousands of families in Switzerland have been helped since the foundation was established.

procap

procap Bern

Procap Bern advocates for people with disabilities in the canton of Bern. It offers counselling on social insurance matters (e.g., disability insurance, supplementary benefits), supports questions related to housing, construction, and daily life, and helps ensure that people with disabilities can live as independently as possible.

Procap Bern also organizes courses, leisure, sports, and cultural activities, as well as meetings and events, enabling those affected to participate in social life. In addition, Procap is politically active: it represents the interests of people with disabilities and works to promote inclusion and accessibility.

ZeMi

zemi Mittengraben

The ZEMI includes the special education school for children with disabilities. Its educational programme is designed to provide the best possible support for each child. Great importance is placed on fostering the children’s individual strengths and personalities, and on integrating them into society as far as possible.

Our contribution

Seeing the sea for the very first time! Many of the residents of ZEMI had never experienced this. The budget allowed only for occasional excursions within Switzerland, meaning many had never had the chance to breathe in the sea air. Thanks to our donation, this dream became a reality. We are grateful and delighted that our contribution made it possible to create wonderful memories of holidays by the sea.
